Every role in an organization poses many different challenges and it is best to take the step to gain a full understanding of the tasks and possible challenges and be equipped with the skills in knowing how to see problems coming and effectively prevent them adding to your workload.
Communicating sufficiently is essential in any organization and one of the key skills of an executive officer. Not communicating at all looks suspicious but communicating too effectively could lead to unwanted levels of extra work.
The executive officer position requires high responsibility levels in providing executive and administrative support which must be avoided. To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed (such as list of transport excuses to cover lateness). Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
Executive office skills also includes preparing and organizing reports, letters, presentations and other office documents, in an event that there will be conflicting priorities such as when to avoid a meeting and take a longer lunch.
Another key skill to develop is to be able to look as if you’re multitasking and often just walking around the office holding a pen and a piece of paper with numbers on it can achieve this look.
